Why ICAS catches strong students out
ICAS questions rarely tell a student which method to use. A child who is confident with a procedure in class can still stall when the same content arrives wrapped in an unfamiliar context, which is why exposure to the question style matters as much as the content itself.
Our programme will work through that gap deliberately, giving students repeated practice at reading a problem, choosing an approach and checking their reasoning inside a set time.
